A more current series that is similar is Saving Hope (2012 to present). It seems that the dead zone in his brain is suddenly active as a result of the damage caused to his brain before going in a coma and suddenly Johnny’s world has been turned upside down. With these thoughts in mind I resisted watching 'The Dead Zone; series, fearing that it would not live up to the book or the movie. I do not consider it to be a good sign that after having enjoyed commentary tracks on every third season episode of "The Dead Zone," that there are only a pair of commentary tracks to be found on the DVDs for the fourth season. The Dead Zone, a compelling dramatic series, follows the story of a young man (Anthony Michael Hall) who, after suffering a tragic car accident, awakens from a coma with extraordinary psychic powers. When Johnny is reunited with two close friends from high school, one of whom is awaiting a heart transplant (Lochlyn Munro), he is tormented by a vision of the other (Ally Sheedy) becoming the donor.
